On Thursday 11th January, I hosted an Adjournment Debate in the House of Commons to address concerns about the cost of living in Carshalton and Wallington.
In Wednesday the 10th January's Women and Equalities Select Committee debate, I raised two concerns that older people in Carshalton and Wallington have raised with me in regard to online services.
On the 11th January, I asked the Leader of the House, Penny Mordaunt MP, if we could have a debate in Government time on the progress in delivering the New Hospital Programme and discuss the benefits that it will bring to residents of Carshalton and Wallington.
On the 11th January, I asked the Sports Minister what is available to support Wallington Football Club and other sports clubs who desperately need new facilities. I was very glad to hear the Government are investing over £320 million to support community sports clubs.
On the 21st, I welcomed Children's Minister, David Johnston MP down to Carshalton to discuss what the Government are doing to support working parents and their children. We visited the Riverside Centre to visit the Governemnt funded Holiday Activities and Food club.
On the 9th January, I asked the Justice Secretary what the Government is doing to ensure that both victims and witnesses are supported after a crime has been committed.
There are going to be some Gas works around Wrythe Lane and Erskine Road, beginning on the 22nd of January. The aim of these works are to replace old metal gas pipes with new PE plastic pipes to ensure that our community continues to recieve safe and reliable gas.
It was great to speak to ITV before Christmas about the ongoing issues with SDEN.
The regular outages are simply not acceptable, especially with this cold wintery weather. I will continue to urge Sutton Council to find long term solutions that prevent reoccurence in the future.
The Mayor of London has proven his incompetence in running our Police. As London’s Police and Crime Commissioner, it is his responsibility to keep us all safe.
