Improve public transport links to the area

Carshalton and Wallington is poorly connected compared to other London Boroughs. In fact by many estimates, the London Borough of Sutton does appear to be the worst connected Borough in London, and yet received the smallest amount of investment from the Labour Mayor over many years.

The Coronavirus pandemic has meant that passenger numbers on public transport has drastically dropped, so it is going to take some time to understand the full financial support on public transport, but I will be fighting for our fair share.

That includes delivering funding to deliver the Croydon bottleneck project and increase rail capacity at our local stations, improve local buses, fight against road closure schemes and carbon car parking charges where residents don't want them, and make it easier for people to make the switch to alternative modes of transport by fighting for more electric vehicle charging points and hireable e-bike and e-scooter trials in the area.
