On Monday 25th October, I had the opportunity to meet with the Transport Minister, Chris Heaton-Harris, to discuss the Croydon Bottleneck and the Croydon Area Remodelling Scheme.
This is an issue which I frequently raise with rail companies and Ministers to ensure the Croydon Bottleneck- one of the most congested parts of the rail network, which impacts 300,000 commuters every day- is given the attention and funding it needs.
I was pleased to hear the commitment from the Minister that the Government recognises the importance of the issue and will continue to work closely with Network Rail and operators to develop the scheme further, and make it a success.
