This afternoon, I hosted a Litter Pick in Beddington Park to mark the the 26th global UN Climate Change Conference (COP26).
During COP26, leaders from across the world will gather to agree strategies to tackle climate change. This includes working to secure global net zero by 2050, adapting to protect natural habitats, accelerating action to tackle the climate crisis, and much more.
As your local MP, I want to ensure that local voices are heard during this global event, so I am holding a number of COP26 events in Carshalton and Wallington. My team and I headed out to Beddington Park for a litter pick session and were quite shocked at the number of bags we were able to fill in such a short space of time.
As well as the COP26 litter pick, I will be hosting a COP26 Climate Conversation over on Facebook on Wednesday 10th November to hear from local panellists on key climate questions. You can share your priorities about how we tackle climate change via my COP26 survey- the answers to which I will be sharing with the COP26 President.
