Today I was pleased to join residents and Conservative councillors at a meeting of volunteers helping to raise awareness of the parking proposals in Sutton.
Organised by Sandra Ackland, volunteers came together to collect leaflets to make their neighbours aware of plans for parking in their roads and hear what the Controlled Parking Residents Forum are doing to challenge the Lib Dem-run Council's plans.
I am happy to be supporting their efforts to fight this. The plans are unfair and poorly thought-out, which will have a very negative impact on residents if they go ahead. To find out more, you can read this report of the debate we had at the Council about the proposals.
I was delighted to have the opportunity to speak to residents at the meeting to thank them, and especially Sandra for all the work she and others have put into this campaign.
You can find out more at the resident-run website here, plus join in the conversation on Facebook and get involved here.
Make sure you are aware of the plans for parking in your area and have your say. You can also see the leaflet being delivered attached below.
