I met again today with the British Beer and Pub Association (the BBPA) to discuss the impact of the latest lockdown restrictions on this sector of the UK hospitality industry.
This follows on from meetings with the sector that I held last year, including with the BBPA in December, as part of my continued support for pubs, brewers, publicans, and punters.
The BBPA remains concerned that the latest lockdown guidance takes us back to the pre-November lockdown position of banning takeaway sales from pubs, including click and collect.
I will be speaking with other industry representatives and writing to the Business Secretary in due course to set out the urgent need for a roadmap to reopening.
