Today I raised with the Secretary of State for Justice, the Rt Hon Alex Chalk MP, what the Government has in place to ensure monsters like the one who attacked my constituent's daughter don't get given parole. It was a relief to see the Government is bringing in change to give the victims more power. Additionally it was great to hear that through the Victims and Prisoner's Bill, that the Lord Chancellor is being given the power to have a second check on the release of the most serious offenders.
