Earlier today, I held one of my regular meetings with our Borough Commander, Chief Superintendent Dave Stringer.
The meetings are always a good opportunity to not only discuss specific issues relating to crime that constituents get in touch with, but to ensure that both myself and Chief Superintendent Stringer are working in unison. This joined up working can include my pressing Justice and Home Office colleagues on issues, making sure that such work is fed through to the Borough Commander; whilst he continues to filter through the overall view from officers on the ground.
Our catch-ups cover a wide variety of issues, with today highlighting the continued crime of catalytic converter theft. This is something that both the Borough Commander and I have been working together on, including - on my part - raising this with the Home Office and bringing the issue to light in Parliament. I was glad to hear from Chief Superintendent Stringer that overall, instances of catalytic converter thefts are continuing to decrease, though he has assured me that the team will continue to monitor this.
As always, if you've got any issues or concerns, about crime or otherwise, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
