Carshalton & Wallington's Unsung Heroes

The Coronavirus pandemic has touched everyone in some way, and in times of crisis it is important for communities to come together to support and protect each other.

I have been absolutely blown away at how well the Carshalton and Wallington community has responded to the crisis.

There are countless cases of individuals and other organisations stepping up to help in whatever way they can. Whether that be delivering food to vulnerable people, taking PPE to those on the front line, donating food, drink and other materials to our key workers, cheering up their street by playing music as we clap for our carers on Thursdays, and much much more - Carshalton and Wallington has hundreds of unsung heroes!

I want to make sure that these unsung heroes – these community champions going above and beyond – get the recognition they deserve. So if you know of people who are doing extraordinary things to help others, I want to hear about them.

Over the coming days and weeks, as well as receiving a certificate of recognition, the nominees will be celebrated online. Once the crisis has passed, I will also see what more we can do to recognise their contribution.

If you know a person or organisation who you believes deserves recognition for their actions in response to COVID-19, please nominate them using the form below.

I am also looking for local businesses who are willing to help by donating awards or prizes to these extraordinary people. If you can help, then please get in touch.
