I was delighted to attend an event in Parliament today organised by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).
During the event, I was told more about the work and future of the National Wildlife Crime Unit (NWCU), especially in tackling theĀ illegal wildlife trade, such as ivory.
The NWCU collates and disseminates intelligence, and provides specialist support to police forces to tackle illegal activity.
They have done some excellent work in the UK, so I look forward to working with them to ensure we uphold our very high animal welfare standards.
