Today is #LessSurvivableCancersAwarenessDay, and I'm joining with the Less Survivable Cancers Taskforce to ensure people recognise the symptoms and see their GP if they're concerned.
As the Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Cancer in Parliament, I'm confident that together we can #CloseTheDeadlyCancerGap. However, we can only do that through early detection and diagnosis. For instance, research by the Taskforce ahead of today showed that symptom awareness of the Less Survivable Cancers (brain, liver, lung, oesophagus, pancreas, and stomach cancers) is shockingly low, in fact it's as low as 1% for some of them.
