It was a pleasure to visit the amazing staff at Wallington Station yesterday to hear about the measures they have taken to keep passengers safe, but also thank them for keeping the railway going for our key workers during the pandemic.
I passed over a Carshalton and Wallington Unsung Hero certificate on behalf of the residents of Carshalton and Wallington to thank them for their work.
For those who can't walk, cycle or drive, the public transport network is necessary to help them get to work and get around, so I was pleased to hear of the measure the rail network has been taking in terms of PPE, handwashing, enabling social distancing, etc, in order to keep their staff and passengers safe. As someone who commutes to work by train, I am personally very grateful.
I know everyone will want to join me in thanking them for carrying on during the pandemic and being there for those who need it.
