I'm thrilled to have welcomed Lily and Nelle into my constituency office this week to mark the first week of my work experience programme!
Over the summer, I'm hosting a number of work experience students who attend local schools or university to experience what it's like to work for an MP and the world of politics. Year 12 students Lily and Nelle took part in a research project on Carbon Capture Storage (CCS) Technology and the benefits of Hydrogen and Electric Cars. I was incredibly impressed with the final project and their speech, which Lily and Nelle presented at the end of the week.
As someone who became involved in local politics at 13, I'm really keen to give local students the opportunity to dive into the world of politics, develop their speech and research skills, and further their CV. Coronavirus restrictions has meant I've only recently been able to open my constituency office fully and so I'm delighted to be welcoming so many students into my team over the coming weeks.
