When I stood to be your local Member of Parliament, one of the key points in my plan for Carshalton and Wallington was ensuring every local schoolchild has a good school place. And it's something I've been lobbying, striving, and fighting for ever since.
Nowhere is this more the case than in my ongoing work over the countless concerns raised by parents over Sutton Council's shocking rejection rate of SEND assessments.
In fact, as I noted during Prime Minister's Questions last year, Lib Dem-run Sutton Council became the highest rejecter of children applying for education, health and care assessments in the country. Nearly half the children were rejected, compared with the national average of 23%!
As such, after meetings with affected parents, lobbying Ministers and hearing from professionals in the field, I was glad to see recent moves announced by my colleague, Education Minister Claire Coutinho MP, about the Government's new SEND and Alternative Provision Improvement Plan.
Encouragingly, it is focused on restoring trust in a system which has been letting down children and their families for too long - as we in Sutton know all about.
With more funding, higher standards and better accountability, we can finally ensure local children with SEND get the support they deserve.
