Following residents getting in touch about the ongoing issues with the bollard on Sandy Lane and the resulting bus diversions, I went down to check out the issue for myself. It's clear that something needs to be done - and quickly.
That's why I've been working with our London Assembly Member - Neil Garratt, and our local councillors to ascertain a proper, meaningful timetable of works. This has included how we can move the situation on speedily, such as moving the bollard to allow better and safer use of the junction so we can finally get the buses running again!
Following this, TfL has since been in touch to say that Sutton Council did the bollard, and they are still investigating potential resolutions.
I want residents to know that my team and I, alongside Neil and our councillors, will continue to firmly push for a swift investigation and resolution. What is clear is that the current situation cannot be allowed to continue, with many people who rely on the buses cut off.
If you are affected by the impact of the junction works and diversions, please get in touch.
