The package of support announced a few months ago to help people with the cost of living was welcome, as is the fact that many people are now starting to see that support and money landing in their bank accounts.
However, the situation's continued to develop, and it's clear more needs to be done, as I said when the initial package was announced. I continue to urge my colleagues in Government to ensure that further wide-ranging support reaches people who need it most.
I'm also aware that one of the main issues is around people being unaware of the support they're entitled to - as well as how to contact the relevant organisations or find out further information, such as Pension Credit. In fact, earlier this year, it was found that £1.7 billion of Pension Credit is currently going unclaimed.
That's why I've put together my Cost of Living Guide, detailing each strand of the package announced earlier in the year, their eligibility criteria, and delivery timeframes. The guide also includes helpful names and contact details of local organisations and charities.
My guide will be dropping on every doormat across Carshalton and Wallington - so if you've not had one yet, please keep an eye out!
