I was delighted to catch up with the team (virtually) from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home yesterday, especially as I have had 2 dogs from Battersea.
The pandemic has had its toll on just about every section of society, and charities like Battersea that take in and rehome animals are no exception.
We spoke about the concerns that the pandemic might lead to a sudden spike of animal re-homing needs as people who may have taken in a pet during lockdown decide they can no longer care for it as we emerge from lockdown.
It was also good to discuss Finns Law, a Bill coming through Parliament to take harsh action against those who harm animals.
I'm looking forward to visiting Battersea physically when we emerge from the pandemic and supporting the great work that they do.
