I really enjoyed popping by this year's International Menopause Day event organised by Sutton Women's Centre.
The evening was a great way to discuss - freely and openly - the menopause generally, ways of managing and handling it, as well as debating the weakening of the stigma around it. I was really happy to welcome my fantastic colleague, Caroline Nokes, Chair of the Women and Equalities Select Committee to the event, too.
Whilst there, I was able to present some of the findings from the Select Committee's recent work on menopause and the workplace. This gave me the chance not just to demonstrate the work of the committee, but to engage a wider audience with its work. As I told the organisers in the run-up to evening, the more people who are not just aware of the committee, but who participate in its evidence-gathering, the stronger that work will be in informing government and other bodies going forward.
