As you may be aware, the Government has given funding to Councils in order to make more space for pedestrians and cyclists, both to promote healthier ways of getting around and to ensure that these spaces are sufficient to allow for social distancing as we are emerging from lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Liberal Democrat-run Sutton Council has made a number of plans, the full list of which you can see here.
This list includes plans to close the bridge between Butter Hill and Mill Lane to motorists.
My understanding is that this will be in place on a trial basis, with a view to reviewing all measures after 6 months to see if they have been effective.
I am disappointed that residents will not have the opportunity to have their say on the plans before they are implemented, when other Councils have managed to find the time to ask residents for their views.
Therefore, I am writing to all residents in the Butter Hill area to invite them to take part in my survey. This will give you the chance to have your say and I will send the results of this survey to the Council so they can be made aware of what the opinions of local residents are.
Please feel free to invite everyone in your household, and your neighbours, to complete my survey.
In the meantime, if there are any other issues you would like to raise with me, please feel free to contact me.
You can take part in my survey here.
