On Friday, I will be in Parliament to do all I can to help to ensure that the Bill aimed at stopping the import of so-called 'trophies' passes the House of Commons. This is due to a number of amendments that have been laid with the intention to seemingly wreck any hope of it passing.
I'm proud to stand with the countless local residents who have been in touch over the last couple of weeks to share their own hopes that we might be able to get the bill passed. Countless surveys show that an extremely large majority of people support a ban.
I believe that passing the bill, with the importing of 'trophies' finally banned, we can send a strong message to the rest of the world, and will be - in our way - our chance to ensure that we are doing our utmost to put an end to the vile trafficking and trade in such wonderful animals.
