On Tuesday, I was honoured to be elected as the Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Cancer.
The APPG does fantastic work ensuring the issues facing people living with cancer are front and centre in Westminster, and I'm looking forward to helping to continue this. Likewise, I'm already heavily involved with issues around cancer, both in Parliament and across Carshalton and Wallington. This includes working with the Royal Marsden and assisting constituents living with cancer, so it will be good to use this experience to make sure that we continue to have a joined-up approach to cancer in Parliament.
At the same meeting, we heard from several stakeholders, including those with cancer, who described the concerns they have and the situations they are facing.
A lot has been done to help those living with cancer and those affected by it, but we still have some way to go - I know we can get there together.
