This evening, I spoke in the debate on the Persecution of Ahmadis.
I am proud to represent the Ahmadiyya community in our area, a great many of whom live in Carshalton and Wallington due to our proximity to the Baitul Futuh mosque in Morden.
I am grateful to my friend Imran Ahmad Khan, the Member of Parliament for Wakefield, for calling this important debate.
I entirely agree with him that, for Ahmadis and so many others, the United Kingdom has long been a beacon of hope and safety, and we should continue to provide this support and offer Ahmadis escaping religious persecution a route to safety.
You can watch my remarks above, and you can read a transcript of the full debate here.
