Sutton Council are currently consulting on introducing a number of Public Space Protection Order (PSPOs) to combat alcohol related anti-social behaviour in Carshalton and Wallington.
In 2014 the Government passed the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 (the Act) which included a raft of measures to combat anti-social behaviour (ASB). The new powers included Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs). Local authorities can make PSPOs where ASB in a particular public place has, or is likely to have, a detrimental effect on the local community. These orders can help by giving local councils and the police additional powers to tackle ASB in specific locations.
