I've always tried to champion our local businesses, from my Local Business Awards to visiting as many as possible locally, and raising issues brought to me and lobbying Ministers.
As such, I welcome the government's moves better to support our local businesses in this week's Budget. Following the Chancellor's speech, it was a pleasure to show Rt Hon Greg Hands MP, Cabinet Minister and Chairman of the Conservative Party, around our area and introduce him to the team at Carshalton's own Village Bakers!
It was incredibly beneficial to hear from the team about how the current situation has impacted them, the sorts of things they're looking for support with, and hopefully how some of the policies announced in the Budget will help them. I know Greg will take on board what he heard and filter it through to the relevant Ministers, as I know I will be.
As always, if you're facing a concern or issue, please do get in touch!
