Keep our area safe with more police officers

Last night I welcomed tougher sentences for the most dangerous criminals and a range of measures to reform our justice system.

I met virtually today with a group of parents who had lost their children to drugs, and their respective MPs, from a range of political backgrounds.

This afternoon I met virtually with Chief Superintendent Dave Stringer, Borough Commander for Croydon, Bromley and Sutton Police, to discuss ongoing operational matters and to raise specific concerns that constituents have highlighted with me in recent weeks.

It's great news for Londoners that, under plans from this Conservative Government, we are going to see an increase in police officer numbers on our streets.

Lots of residents have been in touch with me concerned about the theft of catalytic converters, including Saffron who challenged four men who were attempting to steal a catalytic converter on her road, and was chased back to her home by those men armed with scaffold poles.

Today I met virtually with the local police to talk about issues on the Roundshaw estate.

Many residents have been in touch with me about the ongoing issues of anti-social behaviour on Roundshaw Downs.

I raised concerns about crime in Carshalton and Wallington with the Borough Commander today.

Catalytic converters clean the air coming out of car exhausts, but they contain previous metals so have become a target for thieves.
