Carshalton Beeches Step-free Access Petition

Regular users of Carshalton Beeches station will be aware that the southbound platform does not have step-free access.

The station currently includes step free access to one of the two platforms, meaning disabled and less-abled passengers can only travel one way in one direction. Full step free access will allow all travellers to travel to London and Sutton both ways.

Currently, disabled and less abled travellers returning from London have to continue travelling to Sutton where they must switch platforms, wait for another northbound train, travel back to Carshalton Beeches and depart from the step-free exit at the northbound platform.

There is predicted to be an increase of 59% in population with mobility problems from 2013 to 2031 in the London Borough of Sutton, so this issue will only become worse.

After raising this issue in Parliament and applying to the Department for Transport for funding to solve this issue, I am now launching a petition to demonstrate local support for full step-free access at Carshalton Beeches station.

If this is an issue that you are concerned about, please sign my petition below.
