Volunteering

It comes as no surprise to me that people living in Carshalton and Wallington have been incredibly generous and want to help where they can.

There are plenty of opportunities to help with during this time, whether that be taking food or medicine to our elderly and vulnerable neighbours, being a friendly voice at the end of the phone for lonely people, providing transport to patients who are medically fit for discharge, and ensuring that they are settled safely back in to their home, transporting equipment, supplies and/or medication between NHS services and sites and much more!

Sutton Council are working with Community Action Sutton, Volunteer Centre Sutton and AgeUK Sutton, to coordinate volunteers. Please register here.

NHS Volunteer Responders has been set up to support the NHS and the care sector during the COVID-19 outbreak. To do this we need an 'army' of volunteers who can support the 1.5m people in England who are at most risk from the virus to stay well. Please register here.

There are also a number of Facebook groups you can join to volunteer:

If you are in need of support and have not been contacted directly, then please check in with one of the Facebook pages above, or call Volunteer Centre Sutton on 020 8661 5900.

If you can't give time, but can give some financial support, then why not donate to one of these excellent local causes?

REMEMBER: If you have a question, concern or need help with anything related to the Coronavirus, then please do email me at elliot.colburn.mp@parliament.uk or call 020 7219 5862 - my team and I are working flat out to make sure everyone gets access to the help and advice they need.
