Support for charities

Charities and the entire voluntary sector will be vital in our national efforts to help people through the Coronavirus.

Locally the voluntary sector has come together as Community Action Sutton, Age UK Sutton and Volunteer Centre Sutton work closely together to co-ordinate voluntary efforts to help local residents. You can read more about that in the volunteering section.

Charities will be entitled to much of the same support that is available to businesses, so I would urge them to look at the business page to see what they can claim for. There is also some helpful advice here from the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).

However, I appreciate that some charities are concerned about a slump in donations meaning they may be unable to function normally, so I have taken these matters up with the Treasury and been assured they are being looked at.

REMEMBER: If you have a question, concern or need help with anything related to the Coronavirus, then please do email me at elliot.colburn.mp@parliament.uk or call 020 7219 5862 - my team and I are working flat out to make sure everyone gets access to the help and advice they need.
