This week, the country has been marking Volunteers’ Week. Coinciding with events such as Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Volunteers’ Week has been a fantastic opportunity to recognise the incredible work of millions of volunteers across the country.
In fact, this idea went to the very heart of this year’s event, with a theme of ‘a time to say thanks’ and allowing us as a country to thank the countless volunteers for their work and contribution over the last couple of years, especially as part of the Coronavirus response.
Alongside the national organisations, this week has been a chance to highlight the work of those volunteers and voluntary organisations in our own area, too. This includes Volunteer Centre Sutton, Age UK Sutton, and Community Action Sutton; whose work is invaluable and who I am proud to support.
To mark Volunteers’ Week, I filmed the message below as part of my way of saying thank you to our fantastic volunteers.
Is there someone you’d like to thank? Get in touch to let me know!
