It was great to visit Sutton Jobcentre today to hear more about their wonderful work to support local residents throughout the Coronavirus pandemic.
Along with my new Apprentice, Joel Freeman, I was pleased to hear about the local events the centre are holding now Coronavirus restrictions have eased. These include the recent job fair in St Helier which was attended by over 200 local residents and the upcoming fair in Roundshaw. Please keep an eye out on the Jobcentre's social media and website for more information about upcoming events.
I was really pleased with the welcoming environment of the Jobcentre, and with the additional space they have acquired, they are in a fantastic position to help as many residents as possible bounce back after a difficult 18 months with Coronavirus.
I look forward to continuing to work with Sutton Jobcentre in the coming months and years to further the opportunities available to local residents. I run an apprenticeship programme in my constituency office for a local school leaver each year for 15 months. Joel is my first Apprentice and started only 3 weeks ago! He will be working on a number of projects, including policy responses, constituency visits, casework support and local campaigns.
