Today I took part in the first meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) meeting for ExcludedUK.
ExcludedUK was set up to raise concerns about those needing additional support during the pandemic who may not have been able to access some of the financial support that is available, such as:
- Newly Self-Employed
- Self-Employed with +50k trading profits
- PAYE Freelancers
- New Starters
- Denied Furlough
- Directors Paid PAYE Annually
- Directors Paid in Dividends
- Directors of Companies not in Profit
- New Businesses
- Low Investment Startups
- Ineligible for Business Grants
I have had a number of Carshalton and Wallington residents contact me who are concerned about their futures, asking me to take part in this APPG, so I am pleased to have been able to do so.
Working with the APPG and colleagues across the House of Commons, I hope to be able to help ensure those who need help to get through this pandemic are able to access it.
We had a very positive first meeting, including hearing some very powerful stories, and I will continue to take up cases of Carshalton and Wallington residents who come to me for help.
I look forward to continuing the work as part of the APPG.
