I am pleased to support Infant Mental Health Awareness Week (IMHAW) 2020.
The theme for this year's Infant Mental Health Awareness Week is 20:20 Vision Seeing the world through babies' eyes.
This theme encourages us to think about the experiences of babies and how these influence their mental health and development.
IMHAW is even more important this year as we consider the effects of lockdown on babies and their development. As a member of the Petitions Committee, we have been considering maternity leave during the pandemic, and I've been interested to hear from new parents and experts about how Coronavirus could be affecting babies - not necessarily the virus itself, but the such as the lack of social interaction due to lockdown measures.
I would be very interested to hear from new parents in Carshalton and Wallington about the impact of lockdown on them and their babies, so please get in touch.
I will continue to show my support for the Parent-Infant Foundation and the First 1001 Days Movement in Parliament in any way I can.
