Recently I spoke with Independent Age, the charitable organisation focused on providing advice and support to older people, about the advice for people over-70 on the ongoing lockdown measures.
The charity was concerned that their polling showed variation amongst older people in understanding around shielding and self-isolation, and asked me to raise these issues with the Health Secretary on their behalf, and on behalf of older residents in Carshalton and Wallington.
I am pleased that the Minister of State for Patient Safety has responded to set out the current guidance, and I will continue to engage with Independent Age and the Department on this issue.
You can read my letter to the Health Secretary and the response from the Minister below.
