I recently had the pleasure of visiting Culvers House Primary School in my constituency of Carshalton and Wallington after the Year 4 pupils kindly wrote to me with their concerns.
Year 4 have been learning about plastic waste this term and took the time to write some fantastic letters to share their thoughts and ask important questions. This included the affect plastics can have on our animals, oceans, and green space, what I am doing locally as MP for Carshalton and Wallington to tackle plastic waste, and what the Government is doing to reduce single-use plastics.
Year 4 put some fantastic questions across about plastic waste, single-use plastic and the need to protect our green spaces and oceans during my recent visit.
I was delighted to raise these concerns with the Leader of the House of Commons today and ask for a further debate to hear more about the UK's efforts to crack down on plastic waste.
