This morning I met virtually with the London Jewish Forum to learn more about the concerns of our local Jewish community.
It was a pleasure to meet with Daniel Kosky, Director of the LJF, Danny Stone, the Chief Executive of the Antisemitism Policy Trust, and Daniel Sugarman from the Board of Deputies.
I have joined the All Party Parliamentary Group on British Jews and the APPG Against Antisemitism, and look forward to working closely with them to support the Jewish community in Sutton; once COVID restrictions are relaxed, the London Jewish Forum will be arranging an introductory meeting locally so that I can hear from them directly.
We also spoke about online harms and antisemitism, and the intersectional abuse of Jewish women. I made clear my support to the Jewish community, and that I entirely condemnĀ all acts of anti-semitism in the strongest possible terms. Any discrimination or intimidation based on religion or race is deplorable and mustĀ not be tolerated.
