Schools in Carshalton and Wallington have once again shown that they are some of the best performing in the country.
Data recently released on the Department for Education website shows that at both Primary and Secondary levels, local schools are performing well.
Thanks to the hard work of teachers and pupils, the national average has increased to 65% of pupils achieving the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics from last year. This year’s results are the fourth since we introduced more rigorous assessments to align with the new national curriculum in 2016, which has brought England’s primary education in line with the best in the world. Each year, more children are meeting the high expectations it sets.
I want to congratulate the schools that saw an increase in the proportion of pupils achieving the expected levels this year, and thank them for all that they do for our children.
