It was a pleasure to attend the launch of Tories for Climate Action in Parliament today.
One of my campaign pledges during the election was to stand up for our environment.
This is also at the very top of the government's agenda, with the UK playing a world-leading role in reducing carbon emissions.
Having been one of the first countries to make a commitment to reach net zero by 2050, the UK is now getting on with delivering on our manifesto promises on the environment by reducing our reliance on fossil fuels, investing in green energy and supporting clean growth at home and overseas.
In Carshalton and Wallington, I will continue my work to protect our parks and open spaces, call for better air quality monitoring (especially near the incinerator), and support measures to reduce, reuse and recycle the waste we produce.
I look forward to supporting this group as we go forward into a greener future.
