It was great to be out in Hackbridge today to hold my weekly surgery and speak with residents on a variety of issues that matter to them.
I hold my surgeries weekly and have a mixture of drop-ins and bookable appointments in a new location each week. It’s been great to begin to meet residents in person again after 15 months of Zoom meetings from my sofa! The weather was perfect and I was pleased to see lots of familiar faces, as well as many new faces, outside the Sainsbury’s Local to discuss Coronavirus, the environment, housing, education and more.
I was particularly concerned to see the volume of busy traffic on the London Road roundabout and will be raising this with the Council to see what more we can do to make the crossings safe for residents and particularly children. I was also alarmed to see the number of motorbikes and cars mount the pavement as a shortcut to the busy roundabout- this is absolutely unacceptable and I will continue to monitor these issues on behalf of residents.
Please keep an eye out on my social media and my website for the location and timings of my weekly surgery and I hope to meet as many of you as possible over the coming weeks!
