For the second time this year, I met with residents from Hallowell Avenue to take a look at the ongoing fly tipping problem in the area.
Since my last meeting with Hallowell residents a few weeks ago, I arranged for officers from Sutton Council to join me on site to show them the extent of the problem and discuss ways in which we can improve the situation.
Sutton Council are ultimately responsible for removing fly tipping waste and the enforcement of fines for such acts on Council-owned land. However, it has been established that the source of the problem comes from land owned by TfL.
I have contacted TfL to ask them to engage with local residents and work with us to find a solution to the fly tipping problem behind the Croydon Road shops, which is ultimately their responsibility.
I will update residents once I have heard back from TfL on this issue.
