This evening, I spoke in the Adjournment debate on Leaseholders and Cladding to again raise concerns constituents in Carshalton and Wallington have brought to me.
I am grateful to Matthew Pennycook, the Member for Greenwich and Woolwich, for securing a further debate on this critically important issue, and particularly for allowing me to intervene during his remarks.
Matthew agreed with me that it is not the leaseholder’s fault that they are living in a building that has this cladding on it, and therefore any remediation that the Government offers has to accept that, and we need to support them throughout the whole process.
I will continue to work across the House to find a solution for this, for my constituents, as quickly as possible.
You can watch my remarks above, or you can read a transcript of the entire debate here.
