I am very pleased to hear that the CryerArts in Carshalton has been awarded £35k from the second round of the Cultural Recovery Fund - congratulations on a successful bid!
Gary and the team at the Cryer have been working flat-out over the last year to invest in their facilities, with their new outdoor, COVID-efficient beer garden/performance space - “The Quad” - now almost ready to open.
They've also worked on a massive upgrade to their air handling system in the auditorium to hugely improve the energy efficiency and effectiveness. The air will now change roughly every 5 mins and is climate controlled, thus making the whole venue much safer.
I'm really looking forward to seeing them open again as a bar/restaurant in The Quad from April 12th, and I am pleased to hear that they have a great many shows booked in for later on in the year for us all to enjoy.
I can't wait to attend something soon!
