Earlier this afternoon I spoke to the LGBT+ network at the Department for International Trade as part of LGBT History Month.
I was very pleased to be joined by my Labour colleague Chris Bryant MP on the panel, and to hear more about his book "The Glamour Boys" that recounts the story of a group of queer MPs who took a stand against the appeasement of Nazi Germany in the prelude to World War II.
The event was expertly chaired by Kenan Poleo, Deputy Trade Commissioner for Europe and an LGBTQ+ Champion, with Chris and I talking about our experience as gay politicians and the history and contribution of LGBTQ+ politicians more broadly.
Thanks so much to Ioannis Benetatos at DIT for organising the event, and I look forward to participating again in the future!
