This long Bank Holiday had it all – the Queen, bunting, cake, and even a bear with a marmalade sandwich!
What better way to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee than coming together as a community to hold events and parties. And that’s exactly what streets and roads did right across Carshalton and Wallington. In fact, there were over 40 street parties in our area – just on the Sunday alone!
Whilst I wasn’t able to attend every event happening across Carshalton and Wallington, I managed to visit a number of them, including those in Beddington, Carshalton, Wallington, and Roundshaw. I’d like to thank everyone who invited me, plied me with cake, and demonstrated our area’s sense of community spirit.
At the end of a busy few days, I sat down and recorded a few thoughts as to what the events meant to me, alongside Her Majesty’s Jubilee itself. You can watch it here.
