The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, delivered his Budget 2021 and Spending Review on Wednesday 27th October; setting out plans to rebuild our future economy.
This includes supporting our businesses by extending the Business Rates Relief for another year to 2023; supporting workers by raising the National Living Wage to £9.50 an hour; supporting our pubs and breweries by cutting duty on draught beer and cider by 5%; supporting motorists through cancelling the planned rise in fuel duty; supporting the lowest income families by cutting the Universal Credit taper rate from 63% to 55% and much more.
I am also thrilled that our Arts sector is being supported through the doubling of tax reliefs until 2023, ensuring fantastic local theatres such as the Cryer Arts in Carshalton are supported.
