It was a great pleasure, as always, to see Nicola Upton - Chief Executive of Age UK Sutton - and her team, and hear more about their work in recent months and what's coming up.
Age UK Sutton have been working incredibly hard throughout the pandemic, and Nicola and her team have been amazingly supportive of people across Carshalton and Wallington whenever they have needed help. We've worked together to assist a number of residents since the start of COVID, and I was grateful to be able to thank them in person for all that they do.
We spoke about Age UK Sutton's plans for the future and for their upcoming 30th anniversary, as well as the brilliant partnership work of charities across Sutton that meant that the local community response was fast, focused and effective even in the midst of crisis. We also discussed the need for social care reform to be brought forward, and this is an area I have been pressing the Government to move faster on.
It was lovely to see Nicola and her team - thank you for having me!
