Network Rail have given an update on the work that they are planning to carry out between Waddon and Wallington throughout June.
The work will centre around replacing the previous rails that supply power to the trains as well as renewing the gravel and materials that run alongside them. In order for this to take place, there will be 'some noisy equipment, lighting and generators on site'. Network Rail also state that residents may hear train horns being sounded to ensure that those carrying out the works are aware of train movements on the line.
In order for these works to take place with minimal disruption to train services, they are having to carry them out during the night and at the weekend. As such the work that will take place is as follows:
In their update, Network Rail list the procedures they are putting in place to mitigate negative effects on those living nearby.
