Transport for London has publish a report following their consultation on proposed changes to local bus services.
Last year, TfL proposed numerous changes to local bus services and timetables.
TfL's plans for the bus network include introducing new services and re-routing some existing routes. This will significantly increase bus capacity going to and from the Sutton Hospital site, serving pupils attending Harris Academy Sutton, the Royal Marsden Hospital, the Institute for Cancer Research and the exciting new specialist emergency care hospital proposed for the site.
The consultation report has now been published and you can take a look at their final proposals here: https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/buses/sutton-croydon-bus-changes/user_uploads/sutton-croydon-bus-route-changes-consultation-report.pdf
Along with many other local residents, I took part in the consultation to raise concerns and support proposals to improve connectivity between the Sutton Hospital site and elsewhere in our area, including St Helier.
I have been making the case to TfL and Government about the need for better transport links to Carshalton and Wallington, including during a debate I led in the House of Commons, which can be viewed here: https://www.elliotcolburn.co.uk/news/discussing-transport-carshalton-and-wallington
I am currently running a petition to improve a number of issues with our local rail services and infrastructure. If you are interested, please do take a look and consider signing the petitions, which can be found here: https://www.elliotcolburn.co.uk/campaigns
There is currently no public timescale for the implementation of the TfL bus changes but I will enquire with TfL and report back when I know more.
If this is an issue that is important to you, please let me know your thoughts on the consultation report.
