Nominations for the 2022 NHS Parliamentary Awards are now open!
Do you know a local person, team, or organisation that has gone above and beyond for the NHS? I am searching for nominees for the 2022 NHS Parliamentary Awards!
COVID-19 has been a global health emergency on a scale not seen for a century and has resulted in the NHS' biggest challenge in its 70 years of operating. The doctors, nurses, midwives, technicians, consultants, caterers, cleaners, and vaccine volunteers carried out incredible work throughout the pandemic; often having to make huge personal sacrifices to keep themselves and their own families safe from the virus.
I have been astounded by some of the stories I've heard over the past 2 years and have been delighted to either award an Unsung Hero Award to local residents myself, or see national recognitions awarded such as St Helier's Chief Nurse who was awarded an MBE!
All our local staff and volunteers deserve recognition, but there are many who go above and beyond the call of duty to provide that extra special care or deliver an extra special project. I've included some of the local organisations below that residents may have used over the past 2 years and I would love to hear your nominations and stories. Nominees do not have to be in frontline or clinical roles- around 60% of the NHS workforce perform vital, but often unseen roles, and many people support patients through working with the NHS in other ways, such as Healthwatch.
Please send your nominations to me at elliot.colburn.mp@parliament.uk by Monday 28th March. You can find out about the categories here: nhsparliamentaryawards.co.uk
