This week marks National Apprenticeship Week, a chance to celebrate my first-ever apprentice, Joel!
Apprenticeships provide incredible opportunities for our young people to learn, grow, and develop, all while furthering their education and earning money. The theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2022 is 'build the future'; reflecting on how apprentices can use their skills to build a rewarding and successful career.
Joel joined my team in July 2021 and is responsible for helping with policy research, casework support and general support around the constituency. Joel has been fantastic in helping constituents with housing support when they need it, helping Afghan nationals receive the information they need, and researching vital policy campaigns on Coronavirus, the NHS, and environmental issues.
Joel was up in Parliament for a special reception at the Department for Education to celebrate apprenticeships and meet other apprentices in Parliament. We also hosted a Q&A with Carshalton Boys Sports College, where both Joel and I attended!
Please keep an eye out on my website and social media for applications for my next apprenticeship scheme 2022/23!
