This morning I had the opportunity to speak in the debate on Dr Liam Fox MP's Down Syndrome Bill, of which I am proud to co-sponsor.
I highlighted the fantastic work of local group Get On Downs and the support they provide to parents and parents-to-be who have children with Down Syndrome. During a recent visit to the group I spoke with Charlotte, who voiced her concerns over wanting to be listened to, be given meaningful employment, and respected as a contributing member of society. I whole-heartedly agree with Charlotte and was pleased to have the opportunity to give my thanks to Charlotte in the debate today.
You can watch my whole contribution to the debate above and read more about my support for the Bill here.
